WHAT ARE SPARK PLUGS?

Spark plugs are what ignite the air/fuel mixture in your engine. Spark plugs receive a high voltage from your ignition coils. This voltage is sent though the spark plug via an electrode. The spark plug's electrode can be made of different materials: iridium, copper, platinum etc. This electric current jumps a 'gap' across the tip of the  electrode and causes a spark.

CAN I DRIVE WITH A BAD RADIATOR?

If you're experiencing issues with your spark plugs, we recommend having them replaced. Driving your vehicle with worn out spark plugs can cause serious misfires which can lead to premature catalytic converter failure.

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF A BAD RADIATOR?

When your spark plugs need to be replaced you may experience one or more of the following:

  • Engine hesitation- Extremely worn out spark plugs don't provide the necessary spark needed for your engine. On take off or under hard acceleration, you may feel a slight hesitation.

  • Misfire- Although not common, single or multiple cylinder dead misfires can occur due to bad spark plugs. Premature spark plug failure is the most common symptom; oil leaks, coolant leaks etc.

MY CAR HAS THE ORIGINAL SPARK PLUGS. SHOULD I REPLACE THEM?

Spark plugs last a lot longer than they use to. Original spark plugs have been known to last all the way up to 200,000 miles. Even if you're not having any symptoms as of yet, we always recommend staying ahead of your auto maintenance schedule.
